I had my abdominal ultrasound today. If you’ve ever had an ultrasound, you suddenly understand my title š For those of you that haven’t had one, I’ll explain the title in a moment.

YAY! I got my World Regional Geography midterm back on Tuesday. I got 73/80 points, which is a 91.25% š I only missed 1 (of 60) of the multiple choice, but the essay questions didn’t turn out as well. For our overall class grade, the midterm is worth 200 points. 91.25% of 200 is 182.5 points! So far, so good!
I wonder when I’ll get my Forensic Anthropology midterm back…? It was much easier than I expected, so hopefully I’ll get it back soon with a good grade at the top!
I had my World Regional Geography midterm on Thursday last week.Ā It was pretty easy for me, but I’ve also been finding classwork extremely interesting and always sharing it with Dan, so it gets stuck in my head. I’m hoping I did well on it. I feel as though I got an A, because I really don’t think I missed enough to get a B. Some of his answer choices were hilarious. Hopefully, I’ll get the exam back so I can share š
Today is my Forensic Anthropology midterm. I’m kind of nervous. She gave us a study guide, but it’s pretty much “study everything.” Thanks. She gave it to us Thursday. I’ve been struggling with my health a bit, so I have been having a very hard time studying. However, the osteology test we had was far easier than anyone expected, so hopefully the midterm will be too. I’m studying right now (well, I was, and I will be again). The test will start at 3p today. Keep your fingers crossed for me!
So, as I mentioned earlier: I have another ear infection. Yes, another one. Yes, the same ear that was just operated on. Yes, the same ear that has pretty much been non-stop infected since mid-March. Yes, Iām about to rip it off and throw it out the door and make it fend for itself.
Yes, in simply naming this post “ARGHHHHHHHH” because it’s the only thing that fits. I suppose I could have put “holy duckling dam” as well, which is what I sent my friend because I’m trying to cut back on swearing. Anyway. Why the frustration?
I am so over even having a left ear.
Luckily, it didn’t sound like this one should be too bad. The doctor said I just have a few spots of irritation which are weeping, and the ooze is what is infected. I start eardrops again today. I also now am under orders to point a hairdryer into my ear (from 12″ away) for a full minute to dry it out.
Can my ear just get better already? This is ridiculous. At this point, I’m just going to start classifying this under “chronic.”Ā ARGHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!
I went to my gastroenterologist today. The appointmentās purpose was to follow-up on my eosinophilic esophagitis, which is actually doing a lot better on the ranitidine and on the rotation diet. Iām hoping it continues to improve as my allergens die off. We have also been working on doing a thorough clean of our house, which we just havenāt gotten a chance to do since we moved in (we do clean, just not a thorough job around the whole house every time). I am going to go see Dr N tomorrow (allergist) and Iām going to ask for specifics on the testing (like what chemical they tested for the āhouse dust,ā even though he only did food he should know), so hopefully Iāll know exactly what I need to know to better control this EoE thing. Right now, not having throat spasms daily and not having choked in months is a plus! A huge plus!
I had my post-op on October 6th, so a while ago now. Oh wow, time flies. Iām sorry I havenāt had a chance to update those of you that have been reading all of the surgery updates, school has been extremely time consuming (more on that later).
My thumb is still having issuesĀ … Like I expected. These cramp things last for quite a while usually. For some reason, I’dĀ never purchased a thumb brace, even though this is a fairlyĀ common problem. I have one now though!
It’s not beautiful, but it seems to be doing the trick. Writing is still painful, but much more bearable with the brace. Hopefully I can paint in it too.
For YEARS I have had a weird thumb issue. Every now and then my thumb seems to cramp up or get tendinitis of some sort, and becomes excruciating for quite a few days. My husband is always wondering if it’s my phone, but I don’t think it is. I didn’t have texting available when I started getting these issues when I was in junior high (didn’t have a phone). I was a prolific writer, of mostly therapeutic fiction and poetry, and it’s the thumb on my right hand only. It would happen mostly after lots of writing. Now, while I definitely say it’s aggravated by my phone, it seems to happen after painting. I have no idea why. I’m going to have to ask Joleen on Monday. I’m going to attempt to splint it so that I don’t injure it more accidentally… ugh. Typing is going to be interesting for my homework.
Any ideas?
