Today was not a pill day, so I don’t know if that has to do with it. However, I’m still feeling awful. I have Pilates today, and I really need to get my [allergy] shots… but I have absolutely NO energy. My alarm went off at 8:30a because I forgot what time I had Pilates (last night, my brain said it was at 10a, but it’s not until 12:30p), but I didn’t have the energy to get myself out of bed until after 11a. I’m still incredibly nauseous and feel like I’m on the verge of throwing up. So far, the two blueberry muffins I had for breakfast are staying down. I hope the Pepsi I’m drinking will help (carbonation calms my stomach, yes it’s weird) with both the nausea and the energy level. Luckily, the other portion of my stomach problems seem to have resolved. I’m hoping they stay that way, but I doubt I’ll know until I eat more. I was actually running a low fever last night, which is on the list of Linzess side effects, but I don’t know if it’s just a side effect of if it means I’ve picked up a bug. I guess I’ll have to wait and see.
I don’t find it weird that Pepsi settles your stomach at all. When we were kids we got 7-Up when we had a stomach bug. Feel better!

Ginger ale works for me too. I don’t actually like 7up or Sprite, but I’d always heard that flatter sodas worked better for that (which sounds awful to me)… I guess a lot of people don’t like Pepsi or Coke for sick bellies because of how sweet they are… But since I can eat marshmallows without hurting my stomach, I’m not worried about that 😛 (told you I had a sugar problem lol)

I think the sugar soothes a little- takes the edge off the empty stomach. So it makes sense but I’d want cane-sugar vs pseudo-sweeteners!

Ah, that makes sense. I just like marshmallows 😛 That’s the only reason I eat those 😛

I know this is probably a stupid question, but have you tried psyllium (metamucil) or miralax to help with the constipation? I know quite a few GI doctors start with those instead of heavy duty drugs because of the side effects, but I figured it can’t hurt to ask.

I’ve used Colace, on a regular basis. It actually was miserable while I was on it, and when I wasn’t. It made things even more unpredictable, albeit less painful. Then when I came off my body had gotten too used to it so it took a lot of retraining to remind my body what to do.
Metamucil makes me super gassy and incredibly uncomfortable. It also doesn’t do anything for the constipation, so I was heavily constipated and hurt from excessive gas. Not fun.
I’ve used Benefiber, and it helps a little, but it mostly helps in all sorts of other ways. Unfortunately, I have such a sensitive sense of taste and touch that I can taste it and feel it mixed into my drinks.

That stinks. I have the opposite problem with Crohn’s, and my GI doc had me attempting to take a 1/2C of psyllium a day, so I totally understand what you’re saying about taste. If I can’t get it down, it doesn’t do much good.

I’ve always had a texture thing, and been a picky eater… so those don’t help much!
I do take probiotics (well, I forget them a lot since they’re stored in the fridge, but I try). They help a little, but my intestines are so sensitive they have panic attacks over everything. I swear, a gnat could fly at my face and my intestines would panic.
