The Day of Love

Happy Valentine’s Day!

I know, somehow, this became all about couples and romantic love… But I really just think of it as celebrating love in general. It just so happens that I have a fantastic romantic love to celebrate, but all love is special. The world needs more love, so let your heart shine today!

❤ to you all!

Cute Compression Socks on Sale!

This is not a sponsored post… I just love fancy socks.

RejuvaHealth.com is having a small sale! They have a coupon code too: CELEBRATE. The code takes an extra 10% off, even sale products! I just bought three new pairs of compression socks, and I’m super excited about it. I love my socks!

I got the Chevron Slate socks, Rose socks, and the Sheer Floral knee highs. I’ve been stalking their sale page in hopes of finding some of their medium strength (20-30 mmHg) socks. As you can probably see, I got two pairs of the 20-30 mmHg socks, and another pair of the 15-20 mmHg. I have two pairs of the 15-20 mmHg, and they’re great for light compression on a daily basis. I can’t wait, however, for the stronger ones for when I go do things where I’ll be on my feet more!!!!

(I’m still working on a styling post, by the way. As it turns out, I don’t fit a lot of my clothes that I want to wear them with. Hopefully, summer will yield more styling options.)

Unexpected Perspective Shift

I don’t believe in failure
Cause I know the smallest voices, they can make it major

-from “Seven Years” by Lukas Graham-

I heard this song for the first time today. I was in the car, driving home from school. This song is a really good song, with a unique beat and beautiful, heartfelt lyrics. The DJ had compared it to the “100 Years” by Five for Fighting. I wouldn’t put it quite at the same level, but it’s very similar in a lot of ways. But this specific quote really struck me at the time. I just watched the video a second time and didn’t notice it as clearly. Obviously, it was one of those things I really needed to notice at the time.

Grampa Surgery Update #4

Last I heard from my dad, a few days ago, Grampa was doing very well. In the 3rd, he was in a regular (non-ICU) room. He was also very talkative, the post-surgery swelling was completely gone in his face and mostly gone in his hands. I haven’t heard anything else, so I’m assuming he’s just been getting better and better! Thank you so much for all the kind thoughts! If I don’t update again, just assume that no news is good news. 😀 Thank you again for all the love you’ve all been sending to my family, is been very appreciated.

Grampa Surgery Update #3

Dad visited with Grampa last night. He’s doing very well! Apparently he can sit-up and eat with minimal help. When my dad visited, Grampa was eating dinner. Dad said Grampa isn’t in much pain, so he’s also been able to get plenty of sleep and rest. I’m so glad he’s doing well! We’re still not out of the woods yet, so please keep your magical healing thoughts pointed his way… I’m sure they’ve been extremely helpful!

Grampa Surgery Update #2

I heard from my dad last night. He said Grampa was okay. He hadn’t woken up yet, which seemed odd to me, but the nurses said for his age and everything he’d gone thru it was okay. He was having a little bit of bleeding issues, but they weren’t concerning to the doctors, they just resulted in a need for another unit of platelets.

I just heard from Grama. She said he is doing okay and she’ll be going to see him shortly. My dad and aunt had already been to see him today, which probably means he’s awake and doing alright. I’ll get some more details from my dad later today!

Thank you again for all of the healing energy and love you’ve been sending his way! I’m sure it’s been helping!

Grampa Surgery Update #1

Grampa’s surgery started about 6am (he had to be at the hospital by 5am, so that’s the time I’m assuming they started). He just finished a little while ago (about 2:30pm I’m assuming). They’re closing him up now, since they had to reset the pacemaker (also pretty standard). It’s going to be awhile before he wakes up, maybe an hour, and he has to be in the cardiac ICU for 24-48 hours (standard procedure). He’ll probably have his breathing tube in for another 4 hours. He needed 2 units of blood, and 1 unit of platelets, which is not unusual for someone his age. However, so far it’s all been pretty routine and he is doing well! Thank you so much for all the positive energy you’ve been sending his way, I believe it really has helped!!!!

Yoga and Painting = My Saturday

Yesterday, was a lot of fun! Exhausting, but definitely worth it 🙂

First, we did restorative yoga. Over the course of an hour, we only did about 6 positions, holding each one for quite some time. Apparently, it’s supposed to be good for fibromyalgia sufferers because of the use of props and such (according to The Chopra Center). restorative-yogaUnfortunately, my body didn’t seem to like it much. I think it’s because my body hates staying in one position for very long, and that always aggravates my fibro. It was, however, good for my P.O.T.S since it was all done lying down and there was no physical exertion. Well, I was having to spend a lot of physical and mental energy relaxing the muscles that my body refused to relax (new ones would tense up during poses and so it was a constant game of tag around the muscles). It was nice, however, because being on the floor and using all of the props made some positions a lot easier. I just wish my body was okay with holding positions for long periods of time. I’m definitely feeling it today.

Then…

Saturday Nerves

Saturday (today) is a bachelorette party for a friend of mine. We’re going to be doing restorative yoga, dinner, then Picasso and Wine (do a guided painting and you can get a drink while you do it if you want). It should be a lot of fun!

But…
