Posting Made Difficult…

For some reason, the mobile version of the website has suddenly been making it almost impossible to post. Everything’s I clicked on either the “add a new post” in the top bar OR “add” next to “blog posts” from the “my site” page, it asked me to choose a site. I only have this one. I’d click on it, and it would take me to stats. I finally had to click on the admin link to get to the more involved dashboard, then open the side menu, THEN click on “add post” … UGH! Don’t know what’s going on with that craziness.

Anyway, I was trying to post a very quick update letting you all know that I am going to the doctor tomorrow… He wants to make sure the pain isn’t from any sort of complication. It’s actually a different doctor in the same office because mine is fully booked. Hopefully this pain is just from my fibro…

Post-Op Physical Therapy

I had physical therapy/Pilates today (remember, they’re the same thing right now). It’s been exactly one week since my surgery, and I haven’t been doing well with the pain lately. However, Joleen was pleasantly surprised at how well I did today. Apparently I was way better than she expected, so that’s nice. I feel like I’ve been sliding so far back… but I guess I haven’t been. It’s nice to know I’m not going to completely fall apart by the end of the three weeks. She gave Dan some things he can help me with (and he can show my mom since he has a business trip next week), and then she told me how to do some stuff that is safe with my restrictions, as well as modified some of the exercises I’m already doing. I do feel better, just completely wiped out. I feel like I need to start my fatigue condition all over again (slowly build my energy levels and activity tolerance). Oh well. Things happen. Just gotta keep going.

Quick Ear Update

I’m currently waiting for a call back from Dr K (the ear surgeon), and I’d like to do a better follow-up after that, if I feel up to it. The reason I’m waiting for a call is because yesterday I was in pain that was only about half a number away from my max. Today, the pain is a tiny bit better, but still very high. I’m hoping this is just because of the fibro… I really don’t want it to be a complication of any sort… I’ll try to write a better post-op report once I’ve heard back!

Delayed Postings

So, I realized I need to stop apologizing for being late with my posts. There is nothing wrong with providing you guys an explanation, but I can’t keep apologizing. I just don’t need the guilt.

All of you with chronic illnesses understand that life is anything but predictable for us, and sometimes even breathing hurts. Those of you without Chronics understand that life just can get crazy sometimes.

Yesterday (8/31), I wrote up a post. Completely typed in a Word doc. I found photos I wanted to go with it. Then, my pain medication wore off and BAM!!!!! out for the count. So, now that post will get posted a little later today (9/1). Hopefully, my regular blogging schedule will return shortly!

POTS Things

http://myheart.net/pots-syndrome/

This article contains a lot of information about POTS. It is also the largest survey of POTS patients ever conducted, with over 900 respondents. I haven’t read the entire thing yet (fatigue and headache, so will need to finish later), but I really wanted to share it with all of you!

The Chronic Canyon; Strength Through Illness

So sometimes you don’t realize what you need to hear until you say it to someone else. At least, that’s how it works with me a lot. When I am dealing with other peoples’ problems, I actually do pretty well and can think pretty clearly… but I am completely helpless at solving my own problems. And yes, they can be the same problems.

The Wrist Issue

Yesterday, Joleen looked at my wrist. We spent the entire session working on my wrist, because I can’t actually get a full range of motion without using my other hand to assist it. However, good news, she really doubts it is either broken or sprained. Apparently, massaging the joint and myofascial tissues in the arm will usually feel soft inside if there is a break or sprain, mine was the exact opposite of soft. She thinks I did something (probably something normal) that just scared the muscles in my arm, wrist, and shoulder, which made them seize up and pinch my nerves.

Flare Week

My allergies have been so horrendous that my symptoms have been extremely flared up all week. There is a ton of pollen in the air 😥 I have been dealing with fibro pain, crazy POTS things, headaches, and my insomnia has decided to join the party too. This does not make for a happy Lizzy… ugh.

yes, that's 96 bpm and 85% oxygen... while lying down. and my wedding ring isn't on because my hand is swollen...

yes, that’s 85 bpm and 96% oxygen… while lying down. and my wedding ring isn’t on because my hand is swollen.

Have I also mentioned that my wrist has been extremely messed up since Monday evening? Not sure what happened, but if it’s still this painful tomorrow, I’m going to go to Urgent Care… otherwise I’m just going to wait until I see Joleen on Monday so she can evaluate it (so I don’t look like a druggy).

Ugh, the pain…

So I somehow did something to my wrist… or at least it thinks I did. During Pilates on Monday my right wrist acted up, so Joleen was able to take a look at it. She doesn’t think my bones move properly (like the rest of the bones in my body haha, sigh), which is causing them to pinch nerves. Then, late that night, my left wrist started hurting. It was a different pain, just kind of felt like I jammed it. Well, it STILL hurts so badly that I have been wearing my brace almost constantly (it’s been giving me a heat rash type of thing, so I’ve had to take breaks) since Monday night. I am starting to wonder what’s wrong with it. I’m going to have Joleen take a peak at it on Monday, which is our next one-on-one session… but until then, I’m stuck with this excruciating pain in my wrist. I’ve been doing my best to hide the magnitude of the pain, because I don’t want to pay for an Urgent Care visit (it just doesn’t feel that urgent, honestly, but it probably is more so than I am allowing) nor do I want to worry Dan. He can tell it’s really bad though, I can’t hide all of the winces and exclamations…

Just… need… to… make… it… to… Monday!

At least I can take pain meds now 😉
